In this first part Ivan covered the actual interface itself, in part 2 we looked at using BSP brushes, lighting, and how to place static meshes to populate your level, and in today’s part 3 Ivan covers using physics, the matenee editor, particle effects and how to make AI paths to place bots inside the level. Well done with this series. I have skirted around the edges of UDK, this has helped me stick my nose into it way further.

    Keep up the great work.

I have a question to ask, Can one person only one make a mini 3d game using UDK 3. If i have an environment ready and two or three characters fully modeled can i make a short game in UDK 3 myself? Anyone Answer my question please.

Very simple game you can create in a few steps. Just follow an tutorial about importing your content into UDK. I have never imported any character probably it might be a bit more complex. You can also use a Unity 3D engine, but I can recommend UDK too.

IMHO – there are good tutorials if you want to watch a guy place and move static meshes, but there doesn’t seem to be much more. I didn’t watch all the vids – I was skipping forward trying to find something new, but it was always “and then we place this here” “now we transform it” “now we line this up here” …
