Final Product What You'll Be Creating
Today regular author Stefan Surmabojov is back with another quick tip. This time we’ll be taking a look at Biomekk’s “Select Loop” plugin for Cinema4D. This time saving plugin can greatly speed up your modeling workflow by allowing you to select entire loops of polygons. Simply select two neighboring polygons and run the “Select Loop” function and you’re done!

Nice quick tip :)
whats wrong with pressing U + L for loop selection?
That’s exactly what I was thinking.
selection>loop selection , click on polygons…. done. can i get paid for this written tutorial?
Yeah, but the plugin has the cool option to skip every N polygons you type, that’s a cool feature.
Tools -> Loop Selection = same thing.
Lol again pointless tut by Stefan…Dude this tuts burn your reputation, let them go…Just you arent made for C4D…no offense
Loop selection with an added feature(NTH). I’d rather type U + L than move my mouse to the plug ins folder though. Guess I’m lazy like that.
Flawed(s) response is more pointless than the quick tip. This burned his reputation? Really? is the world judging every move he makes in this short quick tip?
At least Stephan si putting these out there. Maybe your way to advanced (animating and modeling at Flawed(s) Designs. Producing such awesomeness!) but there are a lot of people that are just beginning.
Maybe you could put out a super duper really awesome tute so we could all just watch and be awestruck with you super awesomeness. You could call it SuperFLAWED(s). The D could morph into an S.
It’s going to be great can’t wait to see it.
I can’t wait for Selections, Day 2 – The Ring Selection. Please make it a video tut as well, I don’t want to wade through pages of text for these techniques.
Once again another disappointing tutorial for Cinema 4d, come on CG tuts you can do better
Waiting for R13 then it is right build in and many more handy quick tools
The plugin may not make much sense for loop selections that can be made using the short cut U~L, but it is useful for selecting every n-th polygon, which is a pain to do manually in Cinema. It might have been a good idea to limit the tutorial to those aspects of the plugin that go beyond what can be done easier and faster in C4D, otherwise it’s a nice tip for newbies, so give the guy a break.
I agree that it is a big disappointment to see few C4D tutorials that are as inspiring and interesting as those for other 3d applications. And I don’t mean this site, in particular, the lack of good training material for C4D has always been an issue both for free and commercial tutorials.
However, the type of comments and the rudeness I have seen posted in response to many of the Cinema tutorials at this site are not exactly an incentive for anyone to come forward and offer anything at all. Not every tutorial will appeal to everyone or may be considered as good or as useful as other tutorials. It would be nice though if instead of just verbally abusing tutors, people would offer constructive criticism in a more polite manner.
Well if we’re going to do little quick tips on things like this, then make sure you do edge cut, which is exactly the same as Max’s connect function, except better, because it’s all on modifier keys for realtime update.
Everyone always misses that for some reason, whereas everyone already knows about U~L.
tanks for this tip
Great tuto, thanks.
