Creating A Stylish 3D Countdown Animation In Cinema 4D

Creating A Stylish 3D Countdown Animation In Cinema 4D

Tutorial Details

Final Product What You'll Be Creating

In this tutorial we’re going to create a smooth, stylish countdown animation. You can use words, letters, logos or whatever you want to make this type of animation. As you can see it’s easy to set up and looks very stylish and attractive.

NOTE: For the Global Illumination lighting I used the “HDRI Studio Light Kit Pro” from GreyScale Gorilla, but it’s optional. If you don’t have it, you can just simply load any HDRI you want into the color channel of a shader and put it on the sky object and it’s going to work the same way.

We must be honest, this tutorial has a good visual result,
but as originality, I’m sorry for Stefan, but it is a set of techniques already taken from the site of Nick Champell GreyscaleGorilla. The makeup of the rounded bevel with the Connect object is already achieved with a great tutorial (October 2011) in this link you verify:
      http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/2011/10/how-to-make-bubbly-rounded-type-in-cinema-4d/
But actually this technique is based on a AmateurMedia project.
So is the real author of this is “Alexander Alexandrov”.

Man the idea of the tutorial is to show how to make clean and stylish countdown, not to show how to round letters using connect/fracture object ;) Yes this techniques are show in other tutorials and I used them just to make the type more reflective and give it more life other than that your argument is invalid ;)

      • Spellchecker

What does this mean :) “Yes this techniques are show in other”. I think you need an education first before posting comments.

I think this tutorial is great, I can’t wait to start it! I think it’s very insulting that you said this guy is copied the tutorial from somewhere the punisher, this guy has invested a lot of work in writing this tutorial. like the author said this tutorial is about creating a 3-D animation countdown and not about modelling the elements.Great to the author, I’m looking forward to seeing more of your tutorials!

Insulting or not buddy this is a old tutorial. The fact of the matter is nothing is NEW HERE. He should have invested more of his time been creative.

      • GSG

I agree punisher, just too much repetition of old tutorials, nothing is new anymore. Those that think its new just shows the depth of there knowledge.

Rarely ever reply on this site, but I just had to for this one.

Nice tutorial! Nice choice of type.

Any chance of tutorials other than motion graphics? I know its C4D’s strong point but its impossible to find Body Paint, Rigging or UV Mapping tutorials.

    Please help!

Love the tutorial, very clean and the connect object is a great trick that everyone should know.

Only thing I want to add to someone who doesnt want to set up multiple renders is that the text field is key frameable so at the 50th frame in just key frame the new text and then set the heading roation for those next 50 framesa and you could even copy past your keyframes to create a loop for the entire countdown and all you have to do is key frame the text changing. So you can set the ENTIRE countdown up(minus any logos) with 1 motext and 1 render. You can even key frame the height so when the title changes to numbers the letters can jump from 200 to 400.

    Anyways great tut

    You sound Bulgarian are u?

  • http://designfishmedia.com Geir B Nystad

    Very good, love it!

  • filipe

in my opinion is was a good tut but nothing really new was shown…

i thought it would show exactly how to achieve the main effect, in this case the transition, not a bunch of techniques to fancy a text and simply rotate it.

as i didn´t pay for it, thanx to give it away stefan.
