Final Product What You'll Be Creating
This tutorial is a relatively quick overview of setting up a scene with a rigged animated object in Cinema4D. Although it should be simple to follow along to anyone with a basic knowledge of Cinema 4D, this tutorial is mainly aimed at artists migrating to Cinema4D from another package.
It quickly and concisely demonstrates how to use the basic modeling tools, set up a rig with bones, use constraints, change the type of keyframes, use the auto keyframe tool, clean up keyframes, work with the time line, set up lights, set up materials, apply the materials to objects and render out an animation. Everything you need to quickly get into Cinema4D.

very great tutorial..Aleksey ,thanks
This is definitely the best tutorial I have ever encountered for rigging and animation. I’ve stayed away from these areas in general because I thought they were too difficult, but you completely changed my mind! Thank you so much, and please make more!
Thanks, i am really glad you enjoyed it. What topic would you like more tutorials on?
Dear Aleksey
before i had a big big big issue and nightmare in the modeling, but really how you explain it put that risk far far far far away. if you can help us more on this part modeling, texturing and lighting i will be grateful.
I agree with Ahmed. If you ever have the time, I would like to see one with some with explanation with texturing and how lighting may effect. Thank you again for you tutorials!

Very nice Tutorial Aleksey, thanks for that.
I liked the modeling/rigging part very much and the approach to the animation of the lamp.
And the small shortcut for undoing unwanted camera movement, awesome.
I would love to see another Tut from you. One nice topic would be rigging and animating a car,
as it is a not so widely covered topic in the C4D Tutorial World.
Again thanks for the very informative Tut.
Rendering takes centuries! Is that supposed to be like that? I’m new to Cinema 4D and this is my first animation render so i wouldn’t know.
Very nice tutorial by the way, was completely understandable for a beginner like me! :)
hello, I just watch your tutorial but you do not explain to us how to jump the lamp frame by frame in the timeline.
Thaaaaaaaaaanx Thaaaaaaaaaanx Thaaaaaaaaaanx Thaaaaaaaaaanx Thaaaaaaaaaanx
this is Wonderful
Keep it UP
By the way
this tut is full of “SHORTCUT” and its great how you explain each one of them
Im one of the SHORTCUT fans :-)
Thanks, I began my first animation in C4D using this tutorial :-)
Thanks for this series…now i can try my own animation in cinema 4D
This is a really superb tutorial – many thanks! I’ve been going through a few C4D animation tutorials and this is by some distance the easiest to follow and most useful, really well pitched and all the little explanations and asides along the way are much appreciated.
If you fancy doing tutorials on more complex rigging or animation, I’d love to see ‘em.
I loved this tutorial! The process help us to understand the animations basics and the rest is up to us…
Many thanx, dude! :D
Here is what I came up with: http://www.vimeo.com/14166451
Thank you very much for the great tutorial. It was wery helpful.
If you can make a tutorial on using music to control animations, that would be great.
Have an awesome day! :)

I don’t understand why at the end of the second part, it’s said that “See you in the next part of this tutorial”
What does it mean?
I mean, the second video I have downloaded, don’t have the animation and rendering part…
Sorry guys, I didn’t see that they were two videos in the second part.
Let’s download it and see the end…
Hi, this is a great tutorial but I’m having the same problem as John above, the minute I start animating everything flys out of place! It happens when the playhead hits 0? The head shoots up and the legs go out of place?
