This week’s quick tip is brought to us by regular Cgtuts+ author Aleksey Voznesenski. Today Aleksey will show us how to use ‘Cappucino’, a simple mocap tool built into Cinema 4D that captures your mouse movements and records the positional data. Aleksey will then show us how to clean up this mocap data using the Key Reducer, a handy tool for smoothing out your animations and removing unnecessary key frames. Let’s have a look!

So awesome! I might not be using the mouse capture but the key reducer and snapshots will be hugely useful.

      Hey,

Yeah, the snapshot feature is awesome in so many cases, especially when cleaning up your own keyframes. I wish it was more automated like in softimage though.

Awesome, I am already liking Cappucino. “Keyframing on Steroids” sounds like a nice catch phrase.

Nice… will have to try Cappucino more. Thanks for sharing.

I can’t seem to get it to work with my 3d mouse. It would be AMAZING to record the fluid motion of my space navigator to keys.
