In the concluding part of his 2-day KEF speaker tutorial, Justin Mitrache takes us through the texturing and rendering processes in Modo 401, and then finishes up by showing us how to set up the rendered layers in Photoshop where you can apply your own post-processing techniques. Let’s start!
For this tutorial it is recommended that you have basic knowledge of Modo. I also utilise 9b Studios PAD Pack.

very nice tutorial .. one quick question .. when you applied material on top speaker how this automatically applied to bottom speaker too .. is there any setting for this or you just skip that part to save time / shorten video?
Hello Umar,
Because the bottom speaker is an instance clone. I explained that when I cloned it and when you do something to the original speaker (e.g. apply a material, rotate it, etc) that action applies to the instance too.
To change from a simple clone to instance clone (this is in the duplicate tab) you just have to hold left click on clone and a menu will appear. Instance clone basically clones the whole layer exactly and not just part of a mesh. So be careful so you don’t end up with unwanted geometry in your scene.
Cheers,
Justin
Mmm, if you don“t own 9b Studios PAD Pack, is it not possible to finish the render?
