Final Product What You'll Be Creating

In this tutorial Frederik Steinmetz will show you how to create realistic 3D fog using Blender. The first section of the tutorial will cover the environment’s creation and include modeling, texturing and lighting. In the second half, you’ll learn how to create convincing, realistic fog and incorporate it into the scene, before rendering and compositing the final animation.

For those interested in jumping straight into the fog’s creation, please note it begins at around the 30 minute mark :)

    Awesome result. Gonna try this.
    Thanks a lot.

Dude… the actual fog tutorial starts at like 30:00… The actual fog tutorial is less than 12 minutes!!
Why did you create the scene from scratch? :/ The tutorial’s about creating fog, not modelling a boat, etc

Nonetheless, very helpful tutorial, but I think you should just focus on creating the fog.. this tutorial should be like 11 minutes long only!

I was asked to do so, by the editor. These tutorials aim at a large audience and we want beginners to be able to follow as well. I’ll ask Ben to include it in the description.

Hi, thanks for this tutorial !

i went to Blenderguru.com , but didn’t find this free package of trees and plants that you talked about in this tutorial .

could you please give a link ?

    Regards

    Orgelf

Nice tutorial, but I agree with Bash – the modeling part wasn’t necessary.
@orgelf – those models was available for free only on registration for limited time :( – so you have to model your own :) – here is one tutorial – http://blendernerd.com/making-trees-in-2-59/ but you can find many others for modeling from scratch, creating in arbaro, or you can use the script in blender 2.49

It is just me, or is the sound ahead of the video?
Makes it nearly impossible to follow :(
