WOW! Need that tut for modo or cinema 4D :)

  2. midge says:

I look forward to watching and trying out your techniques.
Thanks and keep the Max tutes coming please!

  3. dammilo says:

sorry but that does’nt look as a good mesh.

  4. Lucas says:

Hey why don’t you guys release the cg Premium tutorials for free after it has been out for like a month or two. It would be so good

  5. Mutahhar says:

Yeah “LUCAS” has a great idea you should release them for free if not after two or three months then at six months or an year…..Not everyone can afford your membership u know!!!

    • You have to realize that the membership is what,,as expensive as your average mobile phone monthly bill? This network is huge, and the hosting I’m sure is really, really expensive mainly due to large traffic amount. Not to mention the maintenance of the web-site, editing tutorials and so on and of course, the fact that they pay for each tutorial. If they’d do what you say,a lot of people will simply wait until the premium tutorials become free.

      • dacian slave says:

Not quite, I’m romanian too and believe me, my mobile phone just sits as an alarm clock, because I can’t afford another extra payment. You know that in this country it’s a matter of surviving… :)

      • Lucas says:

But what i am referring to is for example what money will they make if the tutorial is like 6 months old in the premium section. Would it be the same for then to put out to the public. You would be inviting more people into the site and perhaps more customers. Plus like Dacina said not every one can pay for it

      • Sylvertre says:

I totally agree. With the money you get paid for writing a single tutorial, you can become a member for 16 months!

  6. Midge says:

Have had a chance to watch the video and was surprised to see that it is not the first part of modelling that is shown. Where is the first part?? Has the wrong one been posted for Day 1??
Not impressed, what with the still dodgy Premium+ links etc, premium content should be just that.
To hit a link which says “Read Tutorial” only to be looped back to the same screen and have to log in again is just unforgiveable guys. Please sort out these annoying problems.
I look forward to your comments.

    • 7rigg3r says:

      +1
Link didn’t work earlier today and still half a day later still doesn’t work.
All I get is a “View Screencast 5″ link which opens a quicktime file that’s in the middle of this project.

      Kinda crappy guys…

      • Matt Brealey says:

        Hey guys,

My apologies for this – the network has been experiencing a few server issues in the last 24hrs that has caused a few access problems. Hopefully everything is now working as expected! Let me know if you have any more problems.

        Thanks, and sorry again,

        Matt

  7. Midge says:

Now several hours since I downloaded the only available video which was 5.
The others have now been added, so thanks for that.

  8. Vonster says:

Hİ, can you like give more information about this tutorial, or maybe more pictures etc? i am not premium member i am thinking about getting premium but that simple picture isn’t really making its attractive. Laurens Corsin’s Creating next gen Hot Rod series looks way bigger than this.
So please give more info or maybe like a small sneak peek video, yo ^_^, hope i didnt sound flaming

  9. Motta says:

Wow, You make it looks so easy! A realistic super car. A brilliant contribution and an even better design. Thanks! Amidaweb Company of graphical design. (Palma de Mallorca)

  10. Midge says:

    Matt
After seeing everything seemed to be sorted yesterday evening I return now to download video 4 only to find that 6 is the only one available!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE PLEASE sort out all these niggles with the premium content, apart from the user interface being one of the most frustrating i’ve seen and used the face that there appear to be problems each time new Max stuff is posted. This does not make for a PREMIUM experience and I am seriously considering my continued support.

    Midge

    • Matt Brealey says:

      Hi Midge,

First of all I’m really sorry you’re still having trouble. I’ve just checked the tutorial again from my account, and everything is displaying correctly in the player, and downloading as expected. I’ll email you now with my direct address, and if you’re still having issues getting access, just drop me a line with your premium username and I’ll chase it up for you.

Regarding the interface, I’m aware that it is perhaps not the most straight-forward system to use and I’ll flag the issues you mentioned with management.

Again I’m sorry for the issues you’ve been having,

      Matt

      • Andreas Galster says:

Agreed. The interface or behavior of how you access the premium tutorials on every site is much worse than the normal tutorials. It sucks you have to log in, search the tutorial and download it. Try looking for an old tutorial you remember but it’s 5 months old and you don’t know the title … It’s a pain to find them. Having direct access to the files via exactly this site would be great. Just make auto-login and people with the rights (premium users) get the download links.

      • 7rigg3r says:

After a few trial and errors, since it’s not obvious how to access it, I can now download and/or watch the tutorials.
I bought a 3 months subscription that I already cancelled the continuation of, I don’t know yet if I’ll continue it since I’m not impressed by (to say the least) what you get.
The ease of access for premium member content should be easier than for non-premium content…not the other way around as it is now.

Not a critique regarding this tutorial, since I haven’t watched it yet. First video downloaded, gonna watch it now :)

  11. Chris says:

I`m having a similar problem to others if I log in to my premium account I don`t see any video links for the Audi R8 max tutorial.

  12. Matt Brealey says:

    Hi Everyone,

Apologies for the issues some of you have been having regarding the Premium content. Rest assured that your complaints have been taken on board and I’ll be discussing the issues with the Tuts+ team today.

    Thanks and apologies again,

    Matt

  13. Kai says:

    thanks it’s awesome

  14. Midge says:

Just checked in to see if things were up and running okay yet, unfortunately there still appear to be problems. Matt has been very helpful as far as communicating with us Premium members but I think it’s about time that the guys at the Tuts Offices in Australia stepped up to the plate, it’s like they never read any of these comments.

  15. Rudson says:

I don’t wanna sound rude or anything, but i felt like this had to be said.
The ideia of a premium content (at least for me), is to provide the best techniques to model something, in this case, an Audi R8, and i can easily see way too many problems on this model, and i don’t even need to see the wireframe.
In my honest opinion, there’s already an excellent tutorial on this site (the hot rod one) and it’s completely free.
I don’t have a premium account so i didn’t see the tutorial, but like i said, i felt that this has to be said, since inexperienced modellers probably won’t even notice anything wrong with this model just by this single screenshot.

  16. Quintin says:

I’ve been dying to check this tutorial out, yet I’m still getting looped. Is there a solution I’m unaware of? Thanks for any help!

    • Matt Brealey says:

      Hi Quintin,

I’ve just gone into the Premium site and edited the post to add in direct download links, as we seem to still be having one or two issues with this tutorial. If you head to http://tutsplus.com/amember/login.php , login using your Premium details, then click the Cgtuts+ link on the next page you should see all of the ‘Download Video’ links in place. Could you also let me know if you see the ‘View Screencast’ links as well? It would be a huge help!

      Thanks,

      Matt

  17. yasam phani says:

    Nice tutorial….! Thanks for sharing….!!!

  18. DOmi says:

Can someone plzz help me Where can i find the Blueprints for this ??

  19. Graham says:

I Have watch the first part of this tutorial and just have to say it poor, he move vertexs about and does not have the wire frame on, so makes it hard to see what is going on. also the picture Quality is poor too.
I dont think this is a Premium tutorial.

Also i too think you premium access is poor too.

    • madhan_2005 says:
      Author

Sorry for that, next time on I will try to have the wire frame on all the time. And for the video quality, I tried to make it as small as possible, thus sacrificing a little quality. Next time I’ll try to make the quality as high as possible

  20. Kriss says:

Why cant i download the Scene Files?

  21. plum says:

Car on the clayrender does not look too good. Looks like made of plasticine. Too small chamfers and wavy surfaces. I’m sorry to say this but this Audi should look a lot better – Why that is premium tutorial ?

    • Madhan_2005 says:
      Author

Ya I know that I haven’t finnished the tutorial yet. You will see the final rendered image with materials and lighting in the next part. I had to submit the clay render and source files in a hurry. thats why you can see some problems. you will get to see the final result in the next part of my tutorial. sorry for the bad clay render.

  22. Kriss says:

Can you include the blueprints and the refferance images?

  23. Kriss says:

    Thank you

  24. Zachary O'Connor says:

Hey, I purchased premium today and was really looking forward to this tutorial but was a little bit disappointed that the blue prints were not included in the scene files. I searched for my own but I could not find any that were as detailed as the ones that you have. Do you think its possible to share the ones that you used with us?

  25. thomas says:

    what about day 2

  26. Richard Hosking says:

ive followed all the way up to video 6. When is the rest being released?

  27. Matthew says:

    Hey,

Im having problems with the blueprints. I have the blueprints and that’s fine but in the tutorial, madhan takes each angle of the car and puts them in different places making sure that they are all lined up. And when I downloaded the blueprints, they are all stuck together and when I put it on 3ds Max, all the angles of the car are put on one plane. I need the each side of the blueprint separately please.

  28. bartosz says:

    @up

agreed. the blueprints used in the video are 4 separate files whereas the link allows to dl only one GIF image. It would be cool if someone posted either a link these 4 images or a tutorial dhow to deal with the GIF file.

  29. Dani7 says:

    Hey,

Where’s the first video? Everything starts already built, where’s the video from the beginning?

    Thanks,

    • Ben Tate says:

      Hey Dan,

To find the first part, do the following:

      - Log into your premium account.
      - Click on “Cgtuts+” on the right side of the page.
      - Click on “Bonus Tutorials” at the top of the page.
      - Navigate to page 4.
      - You’ll find “Day 1″ of the Audi R8 listed.

To view the first video click on “View Screencast 1″ on the right side of the post, or you can download it by hitting “Download Video 1″. (You can do this for each of the videos)

      Cheers!

  30. Beev says:

    Ben,

Dude, have just signed up and spent 20 mins trying to get the first series of these files, this is really frustrating. I can only get screencast 6. Followed your instructions but it aint there. Did a search on “Audi R8″ and only four links come up with two of them screencast 6 again this is the URL that is created for the search http://tutsplus.com/plus-content/?s=audi+R8). How can I get the full series of files?

    • Chris Tate says:

      Hey Beev,

Sorry to here you’re having a problem!

Honestly I have no idea why only screencast 6 shows up when you do a search! I also tried it and got the same result, so I’m not sure what’s going on. As those posts were put together by our previous editor, and we have since changed the way we do it.

When you follow the instructions above, do you only see “screencast 6″ listed and nothing else at all? You should see the following (shown in the image below.)

      http://cgtuts.s3.amazonaws.com/Misc/SC.jpg

Let me know, and we’ll try to get this sorted out asap!
      Cheers!
      Chris

  31. Beev says:

    Hi Chris,

I just tried the instuctions again and had the same result. I only see “screencast 6″ listed and nothing else like in the screen shot you sent. Is there a url I could paste in to get to the page you sent?

  32. Rob says:

    Hi Ben,

The videos show up and are available for download if you go and click on page 5, but if you were to search for audi r8 in the search box thats when the problem happens and the videos no longer show. The same thing appears to be happening for the bugatti videos. If you just click the page that they are on then they show, but if you use the search box to find the videos then they dont show.
