Can you follow this without having 3dsmax? I am interested in this but I’m a modo user and would like to know if it’s possible to follow along in modo. I would hope it isn’t too 3dsMax specific. Is it?

      Hello everyone,

Thank you very much for the kind replies :)

I am glad you like the first part of my tutorial and hope that you are going to like the next parts as well :)

@Noen if you have some basic level of understanding Modo I think you will be able to follow pretty easily.

      Thanks once again guys :)

Looks great. I’ll be trying this one in C4D.

    • Jay

Oh, and I forgot to ask ? What is the machine for / what does it make / do ?

  • http://www.youtube.com/goranification Goran

I love this kind of tutorials :D!

  • Jeremy

OK, it has been asked twice, and no answer yet. So, I have to ask again, what does the damn thing DO?

    • Martin

      Hi Jeremy,

I actually explain that in the first video :)

It’s a gear making machine. It’s used to produce all kinds of gears :)

I also don’t know much about it, I’ve never really seen the machine in reality.

      Regards, Martin

      • Jeremy

Hey thanks buddy. I must have missed it.

  • Oliviabest

Martin, you’ve done a great job. I liked it, honestly. The tutorial is really nice and helpful. As for me, earlier I was just a beginner and was practicing onto such tutorials. They are just awesome. Aslo I would like to share with my work and know what do you think about that. Please, you are welcome to see my creations at http://www.websitetemplates.bz/3d-model_animation.html

Thank you for the kind words Olivia.

I took a look at your portfolio and I think you have big potential. Keep at following tutorials and you will become better and better. I will be happy to see your end result on the Soviet Machine. You can e-mail it to me when you are done. The same stands for anyone who would like some feedback on the end result.

After all of the 7 days are up I will be glad to look at your results.

man great model , and thank you for tutorial . i was watching the 3 part and i wonder maybe the tool bridge in the editable poly would help you modelling , is faster than pulling edges and connecting , just select two edges and used bridge , you gain a lot of time. and also check out “autogrid ” when you creating a object over an existent. just trying to help you with your work :D keep the good work

    This is really helpful

  • V3N0M

Thanks for the tutorial. I learned new things which will definitely help me to model better. You really gave me the impulse to start modeling greater projects :D. thanks again

    Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I use bridge but I do so not so often. There is no particular reason it’s just my way of work. If you prefer to work with it you can do so :) . I guess you haven’t watched all the videos because I actually use auto grid whenever I find it necessary. Anyway I always appreciate a good advice. Thanks and I hope you enjoy the tutorial series.

  • Novica Vukobratovic

I am just on fire while i am downloading these :D can’t wait to start watching them and making the machine while i am doing that.Thank you SO MUCH for making a video easy to follow tutorial, because most of the tutorials i found on the internet miss somethink at the middle of them, like how to connect vertices so that the object extends in the way it needs to (don’t know if you get what i am saying, but i do xD ).THAT is the ONLY thing for now that is confusing to me as a beginer.I know many things, but i searched for that specific thing and found no answer on the forums.I hope it will be somewhere in one of yours parts of your tutorial so that i can learn that DAMN thing once and for all and do something on my own without help of tutorials ! :)))) thank you so much, once again :)

  • Novica Vukobratovic

Hey mate i really need your help ! :/ i am stuck at the begining of the high poly modeling (part 2 day 1 ) in the begining of the video. When you go to the isolate mode and apply the MESH SMOOTH ,my edges in the middle of the body go crazy bananas :D i already tried it twice from the begining and did EVERY step you did and still it does the same exact thing … hm,what can be possibly wrong? please help !
    Thank you

On Day 1 and Day 2 for some reason it wont let you watch part 2 of the tutorials. Is there a way to get around this? When I try to watch this on any site it says Sorry unable to play this episode? Could you repost these episodes so that I can follow along?

I can’t watch video 2, please re-upload, it’s a very interesting tutorial, and i’d like to learn everything from it, but for that I need the complete videos, so please, when you can, re-upload the part 2 video. Thanks.
