There must be better ways :) as this is a good, but still workaround for the missing edge control (till Freestyle integration done). Few days ago it came into my mind that one can use vertex painting instead of the UV mapping - this may simplify the flow.

I'm really intrigued by this tutorial, but I think there are better ways to do such things. Which is why I plan to start writing tutorials for this site. If anyone wants a specific tutorial done or have any ideas, just drop me a line, here is my email: kainaldar@live.com

If you want high res blender tuts then I am your man. :)

Enjoy

This was awesome! I can really see the use of this technique. Very abstract. Very different.

Is it possible for you or anyone reading that is a Blender artist to create a set of beginners tutorials? I think most of us beginners have little problem figuring out where the panels, buttons and actions are. The beginning Wiki at Blender covered that well.

Now I want someone with experience to show us how to create 4 walled spaces, general lighting, basic movement and modeling. I have seen wonderfully amazing tutorials on here so far, but I am a classic graphic designer with NO 3d experience outside of extruded shapes in Illustrator (or imported 3d objects).

I look forward and am eager for more Blender!

Didn't follow it well - probably cause I'm new at blender. Perhaps, also, I'm used to the screencast tutorials for blender - they seem a lot easier to follow.
