Which Tuts+ Site Should We Launch Next?

We’re planning our next few Tuts+ sites, and would love your opinion and advice on which topics you think we should cover next! We’d be really grateful if you could take a minute to answer our quick poll and share your thoughts…

Have Your Say

We’ve been considering lots of different ideas for our next Tuts+ sites over the past few weeks, and wanted to also ask the opinion of our awesome community!

A selection of different concepts are included in the poll to the right, along with the option for you to submit your own ideas as well.

The important thing to note is that these are just ideas. Some of these are close to making our final cut, and others aren’t… We’d love to hear what you think, to help guide our decision.

Thanks for taking the time to offer your suggestion — I can’t wait to see what you have to say!

Win a 6-Month Tuts+ Premium Membership

Our poll will be running for the next couple of weeks, and we’ll be choosing one respondent at random to receive a six-month Tuts+ Premium membership!

To be entered into the giveaway, just leave a comment on this post to go into a bit more detail about your site suggestion. We’ll choose one comment at random to win the Tuts+ Premium membership when the poll ends.

Best of luck!

    Gamedev obviously.

Game Dev tuts for sure, would be the best! Maybe some Game Maker tuts and some Unreal engine tuts. Or just some tuts in Java and C++.

  • Ben

    Healthtuts+!

I was originally thinking Gamedevtuts+ but that is/could still be incorporated into CGtuts. I sit on my ass all day drinking countless energy drinks doing my work …. any tips on staying healthy might actually keep me alive if I plan on getting my degree in comp animation. Besides, for most people staying healthy is pretty important to them. Also just think how many hits sites like Askmen.com get for there health section … you will make a killing from it ;)

Keep those awesome tuts up, looking forward to hearing what’s next :)

    DrawTuts+!!

I’ve heard this suggested before and I think it would be welcome addition to the Tuts+ network. It could very easily be tied into the digital art tuts+ sites like PSDTuts+ and VectorTuts+.

  • http://www.skaremedia.com Chris

Ohhh, Freelance Tuts! Because Im going to be traveling and hopefully freelancing come next year!

  • Eric

The freelance tuts could be a great help to anyone currently working as a freelancer or looking at getting into working as one. I think it would be a nice complement to the sites you already have.

    Techtuts+ should be interesting!!

  • Ted

I think Gamedevtuts+ is the next logical step. There are already some tutorials in Activetuts+ and Mobiletuts+ that could be integrated in this new site. I’d also love a game dev tutorial spanning across multiple sites. Cgtuts for 3d graphics, mobiletuts/activetuts for code, audiotuts for music and soundeffects and finally webdesigntuts for the web promotion of the game!

  • Sergiu

    Businesstuts+, Healthtuts+, Sciencetuts+, Writingtuts+! All or any of these :D.

  • http://www.kiefer.nl Albert Kiefer

I added Dataviztuts+ because datavisualization and GIS mapping is a very exciting and growing field.

  • C4Danik

    I think the next tuts+ site should Gamedevtuts+ :]

  • http://prestigefilms.blogspot.com Christian

I think, that TechTuts+ would be great! You can talk about gear in the tuts and shooting technics etc. So you could combine all Tuts+ Pages… For example you talk about shooting and then giving an advice for an CGTuts+ video and than go over to an matchmoving tut at AETuts+ or something like that. K think TechTuts+ would match perfectly to the other Tuts+ pages!

    GameDevTut+ !

there are so many tool on the market now – Unity3D, UDK & CryEngine3 with outstanding abilities,
that deserves a dedicated Tut+ site.
this can also be leveraged later to a store where you could buy and sell assets !

The tutorials on tuts+ are very interesting and explanatory.I am very much interested to learn Game-development.Please the next site should be Gamedevtuts+ .I want to develop a cool game \m/

    Mactuts would be great!

  • CrazyMF

I would really like to see TechTuts+ …by that I mean really tech tutorials…not just dull artciles!

  • David

    Gamedevtuts for sure.

  • Jorpaes

    Game, Tech or Mac.

  • Thyago

I believe ScienceTUTS will be more interesting. GameDev-Tuts? I don’t think so, we already have Cgtuts, those stuff can be posted there…

    Regards.

  • Olafgarten

Obviously Game Dev Tuts always wanted to put my cin4d models into games but never could get the hang of programming

  • TheJermex

    Gamedev and nothing else matters.

    i voted ‘others’

dotnettuts+ which cover every bit of the dotnet framework, sqlserver, ado.net, wcf, wpf, silverlight, etc.,
cmstuts+ which cover every cms from wordpress, drupal, joomla, dotnetblogengine, dotnetnuke etc., :D

where is Herbtuts+ in options :D

A tutsplus forum will be awesome too

  • Peter Tierney

I would love to see a craft based tuts page or even a drawing page.

  • Masood

    Gamedevtuts+ FTW!

  • http://digitalcorruption.net Triforce of Shadows

Would love to See some more Game Dev Tutorials for more platforms, since atm there is just some here and there.

    I would recommend Gamedevtuts+.

If you think about it, you know that everything is implemented in game development.
From Storyboards to Storyline from 3D Design to Scripting and more.
You can teach in different sectors, from begin to end production.
Show and tell the world what a Game Pipeline is and how it works.
3D Studio Max would be the best option for 3D Design.

its gona be awesome to see a new website from you guys ….

  • Simon Lut

Gamedev! Would love to see the workflow, and what you have to do to build a game! Maybe UnrealEngine?

  • techno.tec

    Gamedev obviously

    • techno.tec

      of course gamedevtuts

  • Alex

Drawtuts+ would be fantastic, would definitely benefit from that.

Sure, you could get drawing tuts from all over the place, but I love the way tutsplus delivers the information, it’s easy to follow, clear and concise. Plus, drawing skills could translate very well into the other fields (photoshop, vector, cg, etc…).

  • Jonathan

Gamedevtuts cause with the help of the tutorials on CGtuts it would be a great fit for the Gamedevtuts, also theres hardly any tutorials out there that really focus on game development and i think the gamedevtuts would be a great place of information and tutorials on game development :D

  • Heather

    I went for Business.

It’s not the sexiest or most fun choice, but I believe having a truly excellent resource built for people in our sector would make a world of difference to people implementing the strategies.

Especially since the tuts network is high quality.

  • Johny

Gamedev!! On unreal engine or unity or for that matter cryengine 3

  • LswaN

I cast my vote for freelancetuts+, because I have an interest in going into the CG industry, but it sounds like you have to be a freelancer to some extent to keep a career in CG due to studios hiring and firing on a project by project basis. Anyway, the idea of freelancing is a little bit intimidating to me and a good resource on freelancing would be really helpful. Thanks tuts+ guys and keep up the great work!

  • Tin Tran

    What about Drawtuts+?
All ranges from pencil to oil on canvas painting, all that involve traditional approach are definitely precious.

I’m not a game developer but I think Gamedevtuts should definitely be success since it’s very practical now.

  • Alan

what about nuke tuts+there isn’t lot of places in the internet that provide nuke tutorials.science tuts and maths tuts would be really handy for students.
most may say game tuts, but they cant expect tuts+ to provide tuts for making world class games(at least without premium membership) . plus making a good game requires lot of hours and many developers.even though it may be able to provide a good level of understanding about game development, it’s quite impractical too considering the amount of time it takes for developing one

at least this is what i think :)

  • Ben

Augmented Reality is the future !

    ARtuts+ would be awesome.

  • Himal

Hi I think your next tut+ website should be about Toonboom. I think this would help a lot, because this software has potential. It can do animation, game design, tv and so more
It would be great If you have this on your next tuts+ network

    Thanks
