Whether it’s from an author well established in their specific field, or from an extremely competent artist, Premium content takes our regular tutorials to the next level, providing full scene files, references and footage; not to mention hours and hours of video training! It’s something we’re all very proud of at Tuts+ and today I’m going to show you why.
The Premium Content
Cgtuts+ is relatively new to the Premium system, but our Premium content library is growing every week, with 4 amazing Premium tutorials or files being posted every month. And we have some awesome content lined up for our Premium members!
But if you sign up today, what exactly will you find? Well Cgtuts+ has already published some AMAZING Premium content for you to view or download immediately, such as :

Madhan_2005′s Bugatti Veyron Modeling tutorial for Maya
Over the course of this extremely detailed 2 day tutorial series, Madhan_2005 walks us through how he modeled the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 in Maya. Not only does he cover the basic workflows involved in creating a hyper-realistic car from scratch, but he also takes a look at some of the more common mistakes that artists are prone to make when modelling extremely high-end photo-realistic cars. A very popular tutorial here on Premium!
Alvaro Castaneda’s ‘The Skateshop’ tutorial for PFTrack, After Effects & Maya
An unmissable tutorial for anyone looking to get into VFX, this detailed 3-day Premium tutorial series shows us one possible set-extention/integration workflow, moving from PFTrack for tracking, to Maya for modelling, texturing and rendering, and then finally to Maya Composite to put together the final result!
But it’s not just Cgtuts+! In addition to the awesome tutorials available as part of Cgtuts+ Premium, when you sign up you also get access to all of the premium tutorials from the rest of the Tuts+ sites! In total, that’s currently a staggering 374 tutorials and 841 source files – and that figure is rising every day!

How about some 3ds Max/Maya to UDK workflows? Modeling modular pieces etc. (Character) animation/rigging would be a nice subject too.
Just subscribed for tuts+
Awesome! Thanks Nico it’s really appreciated and I hope you’re liking what you’ve found!
UDK eh? I may have something coming up you might like…
Cheers!
Matt
Id like to see as many max tutorials as I can…..modeling cars, and organic creatures…gothic scenes …. mapping texturing materials…..rendering vray and mental ray…..comparisons which is better and for what…tips for faster rendering…occ….a way to showcase your models….Ive always wanted to display my model in flash …able to spin and zoom in ….studio rigs…..I look at alot of tutorials….Ive purchased a few….Like your site and will keep coming back
I would love to learn more about UV maps as well as some Bodypaint tutorials, also some rigging would be nice specially for Maya and C4D.
For me, a one year of -stunning- premium content allow me to take my freelance business to the next level.
There should be a tutorial (or series of) Covering the new features of Zbrush 4. Also taking a Character from Modeling to Scuplting to texturing etc etc. until a nice final piece. Covering topology and all that good stuff you needs to know
Oh and SSS Shaders cause i can never find to much on that. In Max preferably
Noted. Thanks Mike!
Matt
How about a series for people that are beginning in animation. With an in depth tutorial into facial rigging and also we could maybe have some tutorials for softimage and more things to do with mudbox and the inter flow between it and maya.
I love really enjoy this website. I visit it daily and iv learned very much from the tutorials. I would like to see a 3ds max tutorial that covers alignment of a building to a background scene. In other words, If i have a scene for the existing conditions of a particular site, How could I align a building that i have created in 3ds Max to that scene? I would also like to see how mental ray can be pushed to the limits to create the best renderings possible. I don’t have V-ray, so I am limited to mental ray.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks Mike, glad you like the site!
Cheers,
Matt
I would absolutely LOVE to see an in depth tutorial regarding creating cityscapes, rigging (including creatures and faces), along with animating things with 3rd party plug ins. That would be really cool! Something advanced and truly mind blowing!
Hi Matt! Firstly, I’d like to say WOW, I’m loving what I’m seeing! I will surely be spending $9 to get myself access to all that awesome premium content! Secondly, you did a really good job with the premium user interface, it’s nicely set out, looks really easy to navigate around and it’s just awesome. Lastly, for the giveaway requirement, I would absolutely love to see a tutorial covering the process of modelling, (and if possible) UV mapping and texturing a detailed building in 3ds Max. Also, I’d just like to thank you for the chance to win a whole year of premium membership!
Thanks Ryan, I’m glad you like what you saw! It seems 3Ds Max architectural tutorials are a popular request. I’ll see what I can do!
Cheers!
Matt
I would personally love to see a tutorial set on creating, texturing and animating a realistic character in Max and ZBrush. I know it’s a lot to ask for, but I feel that it would provide a lot of help to a lot of people. Myself included.
I’ve always dreamed to sign up for Premium, but just can’t afford it.
I’ll see what I can do!
Cheers!
Matt
Hi, I would love this to take my skills a level higher and to learn how to do expert character modelling in any package. Thanks.
I would like to see a complete work flow of character design for UDK.
Base modeling, Sculpting, Rigging, Normal map generation, and setting the designed character as player in UDK.
Probably even better than my suggestion!
I would love to see a complicated fluid system set up. There are several basic fluid sim tutorials out there but never a comprehensive or ambitious set up. I say this because more and more I have been noticing these kind of scenes used in TV advertising for products like soft drinks and such, with mulitple inflow objects and fluid dynamics creating some really cool effects.
Not only a useful topic from a commerical perspective, also fluids are really fun to mess create with in 3d!
I would like to see a modular environment tutorial and environment creation tutorial for 3Ds Max
I for one would like to see more on character creation, something which alot of people are interested in and something that gets everyone excited at the start of the day
It would be great to see a modeling of a Monster Truck or something big
Including texturing it
Would also be great to get that 1year premium access!
Good luck to everyone!
1. Ok, so i would like to see more tuts, tips, tricks about how to create NEXT GEN stuff.. and i mean everything! How does a big studio make their projects? The concept art, the modelling, texturing, animation… you know ;]
2. More FumeFX and RealFlow tutorials cuz’ you can never know too much about that.. i’m really interested in how to create let’s say .. like a movie scene where a fighter jet get shot down and come’s down crashing and exploads and all that good stuff!
3. I would like to know what do i need to do to create a HI-RES texture
4. I’m also interested in Audiotuts+ so i would love to see there are some tips about how to create a DJ Set.. what software to use and how do you “construct” lets say a house / progressive house set.
5. Maybe some tips about how to make a stylish portfolio / demoreel
6. MORE ZBRUSH / MUDBOX TUTS!
7. And ofc i would love to be able to create an ACCOUNT on the TUTS+ page! Maybe i can’t see the PREMIUM tutorials but i would like to FAVORITE some of the tutorials so that i can always go back and watch them and not have to jump 15-20 pages of tutorials to find one ;]
Regards, Marinov
Wow! Thanks Marinov, I’ll pass your notes around and see what I can do
Cheers!
Matt
I want to see more Cinema 4D and Modo Tutorials here on CGtuts+! Some modo tuts to create photorealistic stills, how to model, texture, light and render them as well as some motion graphic effects tutorials for Cinema 4D like title creations and cinematic effect breakdowns and rebuilds.
That would be great!
Max
Thanks Max! This is definitely I have in mind for the site, (and hopefully I’ll be finishing up a few texturing/rendering Modo tutorials myself in the near future!) Do you have any specific idents/titles you’d like to see broken down?
Cheers!
Matt
I just recently became aware of After Effects software. Been using Premiere and currently trying to learn Final Cut. I would love to know, as a beginner, where and how to start with AE. I know that the possibilities are endless, and I have a lot of ideas and have seen tutorials other places, but I am always wanting to just overall learn and grow. I want to take my editing to the next level.
Videocopilot.net is surely where you need to go for biginning after effects
Would love to see some full tutorial projects that covers everything. From modelling to a fully rendered scene. And a example of a project i would like to see is a environmental project. For next gen games like a fallout concept or the game rage something like that.
What a nice prize to win. I would love to see what all the premium tutorials are.
Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the great recommendations – keep them coming! And if you have any questions on the post, feel free to leave me a message and I’ll try and answer them
Cheers!
Matt
I would like to see some tutorials regarding texturing, both pre and post work on how to properly make textures and all that goes into preparing them etc.
I would love to see a flash tutorial for creating line drawing animation like the one in the example for the this activetuts tutorial.
http://activetuts.s3.amazonaws.com/tuts/152_QTiPad/Preview/JavaScriptWebsite.html
I would love some tutorials on how to create the maps used on characters, buildings etc… I know this might be in photoshop, but would love to see how you draw / plan a face before creating it and then mapping it to the 3d.
Hey, I hope I can win!
What I would like to see is a more in depth tutorial in photo.tutsplus.com about lighting, specially in using just one light to create contrasty, grungy images. And after that a tutorial on how to retouch the photoshoot.
More specifically how to shoot a rock band, to get grungy images and the retouching process after the shoot.
Thanks a lot.
I’d like to see more tutorials for Cinema 4D, and specificially more of modelling tutorials, cuz i suck at modeling. You’ll see Matt.
Sup guys.
I might create a video tut about modeling a building. If my poor laptop will be able to handle that.
Just stumpled over your site by accident today!
Looks very promising.
There are so many beginner tutorials available for all sorts of software that IMHO there is no need for another 101 typ tutorial site. If you want to be special, go for the advanced tutorials. I would like to see stuff like “rendering animations in max and Vray with moving objects AND global illumination”. Next how to split your renderings in parts for later compositing in Fusion. By the way, Fusion is such a great program but good tutorials a very rare.
Regards
Claus
Hi, my name is Antonio Stoilkov. I have two great ideas. The first is to create a tutorial that shows techniques for modelling. I have been around the web and I have never seen such a thing. What I want to say is techniques for better modelling because in the moment while I am watching the tutorials I try to find this techniques. It will be great to have tutorial series to have all that in one place. My second idea is that you have some great Activetuts+ tutorials but you can have some advanced articles and tutorial series for the these people that like more advanced stuff.
Antonio Stoilkov
I’d love to see another tutorial like that hot rod one which was a massive 8 day tutorial. But maybe something like a building this time. Maybe even something like Big Ben in London?
Good luck everyone!
Hi.
I would love to see a tutorial showing full asset work-flow for a game engine. For example on UE3 or Sandbox2. A tutorial going through the whole process of creating the asset and having it working in-engine.
Thanks.
Tim.
I’d just like to see some full game art workflows. The modelling process and all the maps. The Mac10 tutorial was good but there was no normal baking which is the hardest thing to get good info on. Especially how to clean up errors.
I’d love to see more tuts on rendering stuff. In maya to be specific.
Good luck to everybody
I’m a Maya guy so I think some rigging and production texturing tuts would be a nice call.
All the premium content looks really good!
One thing I would like to see is some beginner overviews on how to use the main 3d programs (e.g. maya, 3ds max, cinema 4d etc…) that show many features for those who for example are switching programs, just starting out with 3d ans so on…
Really like the tuts plus network of sites and am often referring people to them.
More sipodi tutorial!
More sipodi tutorial!
I’d like to see some tuts on 3ds Max Design. There’s a lot going for it with its rendering features.
Excellent site(s) so far… but as you’d like ideas for new tutorials, here are some. C4D is my thing, so what would be really good is tutorials in that for…
- underwater scenes
- ocean surfaces
- advanced achitectural modelling
- head and body modelling
- ruined castle modelling / texturing
- Great white shark modelling / texturing / rigging (though any shark would do)
- advanced animation techniques
- lighting masterclass
- GI masterclass
- Post Effects run-down
- Tree modelling / texturing / animation
- Advanced particle systems
- Epic Fantasy landscape modelling / animation
- Texturing mountains / vegetation
- a REALLY decent photorealistic waterfall
- Bugatti Veyron (or any other super cool car) in C4D !
- Face rigging
- Modelling an electric guitar
- Modelling / texturing a hedge
- An internal architctural scene
- Pyrocluster – creating decent explosions
- Stained glass window with volumetric moving lightbeams
- Advanced Render masterclass
- A detailed cityscape
- Rollercoaster POV animation
- Character walk cycle animation
- Modelling / texturing / rigging a dragon / dinosaur
- Bodypaint / UV unwrapping masterclass
I could go on… almost indefinitely, so better stop somewhere.
Again, well done for being the best tuts site there is, both in content and site design…
I think a few tutorials on animation in blender would help. And possibly how to export blender animations to various game engines.
An overview of current texturing and realtime rendering pipelines in layman’s terms would be appreciated. I’m definetly a bit lost when it comes to deciding what to paint into a texture, what to leave for shaders and so on.
Also, how to approach rendering in 3d packages (learning Modo currently).
There’s just a huge amount of settings available when you start to render, say a character, and it’s quite hard to start figuring out what of the thousands of sliders you should tweak to get the desired effect, even if you had the whole manual memorized. Some sort of essential or key points to keep in mind when rendering would help a lot, and preferably with some explanation of the settings effects and not just “set this to 4.05″
A tutorial using greeble modifier to make some cool images.
I’d like to see a tutorial on how to model a car in Cinema 4D that explains everything.
I’d like to see a review on all the special effects of a single movie.
I would like more VFX tutorials that go further. Advanced 3d tracking, advanced photo-reastic renders. I really want to persue a career (oh well, at least a good hobby xD) in VFX, teaching myself maya and mudbox now… HARD STUFF!
As a visual effects student and a new member of the Tuts+ site let alone the premium membership, a boat load of Maya workflow tips and how I can integrate it with After Effects would be amazing. And also Zbrush anyone? Thanks for the great content guys… Invaluable to my studies!
Hi,
Great site. I’ll be signing up for this later. I’d like to see some shader tutorials for Vray, so you can understand how to make amazing looking materials, and end up with renders that look photoreal. Stuff like carpet, sofa material, soft furnishings, wallpaper, car-paint etc.
cheers
David
Thanks David, I’ll see what I can do!
Matt
Amazing what I’ve seen in here,
Unhopfully I can’t afford 9$per month (by that I mean the payment stratgie here in morocco sucks) but, the tutsplus worth more than that.
I hope if I could win this give away.
Thanx matt for your nice tutorial and this nice opportinitie.
