hi topher
am a huge of you and the entire tuts+ network .. its great that you guys come up with such amazing tutorials for 3ds max , c4d nd maya .. i rilly appreciate that .. am basically a c4d user nd recently have started using houdini .. but its really really hard to find good tutorials on houdini anywhere on the net . it would be just great if you could compile a list of houdini tutorials ( plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz ) .. houdini is rilly powerful application but there are no good tutorials available .. i request you to please post some houdini tutorials
See the above reply for the answer to this one:)
Few Houdini tuts you can find here: http://www.cardanfx.net/english/titles/free/houdini_training.html
its a great thing that you guys compile such awsome tutorials for us .. but please please i request you to post some houdini and lightwave tutorials .. maybe none of the 2 applications are s popular as 3ds max or maya .. but that doesnt make them less powerfull … i mean there are hell lot of lightwave nd houdini users out there .. nd there are rillt scarce resources for these 2 applications .. i request you to plz compile some great tutorials for houdini nd lightwave .. as you did with c4d .. maya nd 3ds max … u told me earlier that you are gonna keep a balance by providing tuts of every powerful 3d application but somehow these two seriosuly powerful apps are being completely ignored .
Yes, it is our goal to TRY and keep things as balanced as possible between all of the major apps out there. But it is as you said, the resources for Houdini and Lightwave are scarce, and the number of users are far less than Max, Maya, C4D and some others. This has made it extremely difficult to find professional authors to contribute tutorials for either of these apps (not for lack of trying). You will be happy to know, however, that I have at least one lightwave author on commission (although he has yet to complete his first tutorial), and am diligently trying to locate a Houdini contributor too. Also, our resident Tutorial Roundup author, Topher, has both Lightwave and Houdini on his list for future roundups…it may just be taking a little time to find enough good tuts to fill up an entire article.
Cheers,
-Kaleb
Like Kaleb said, I have plans to get Lightwave and Houdini roundups going, but since they are used a lot less widely than the other big hitters in the industry, it makes it a lot harder to find large quantities of tutorials.
I will try to get a list as big as these for Lightwave, Houdini and others, but I can’t promise anything. I will do my best though!
thats certainly is some good news .. i am eagerly waiting for you guys to come up with the tutorials of houdini nd lightwave .. thank you so much for replying …
